Puff pastry sheet | 1 (8×8 in) | Thawed if frozen
Bacon | 6 slices | Thin-cut works best
Cheddar cheese | ½ cup | Shredded
Garlic powder | 1 tsp | Flavor boost
Black pepper | ½ tsp | To taste
Egg | 1 | For egg wash
Water | 1 tsp | For egg wash
Preheat & Prepare
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare Puff Pastry
Roll the pastry slightly to smooth out folds.
Cut into 12 strips, about 1 inch wide.
Layer the Ingredients
Place half a slice of bacon on each strip.
Sprinkle with cheddar, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Twist the Pastry
Hold both ends and twist 2–3 times so the bacon and cheese spiral through the pastry.
Place twists onto the prepared baking sheet.
Egg Wash
Beat the egg with 1 tsp water.
Lightly brush over each twist for a golden finish.
Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until puffed, crisp, and golden brown.
Cool & Serve
Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm.
